Ken Bruen -- A Priest?

I was having a wee surf around good old imdb.com, checking out the status on the three movies based on Ken Bruen novels that are in the works. Turns out London Boulevard is about to rap and Blitz is about to start rolling. Once Were Cops has just a very vague entry on imdb, but the fact that it’s there at all warms my cockles, as they say.

I learned a few cool things about London Boulevard. I knew Colin Farrel and Kiera Knightly were cast in it. But I didn’t know that it also stars Stephen Graham, ANNA FRIEL (pictured below), Ray Winstone and David Thewlis. Seriously, I already know I’m going to love this movie.

The Blitz entry gives away a little less info, but it’s damn good info. Jason Statham and Paddy Considine have been cast. Nice.

But there’s one thing about Blitz that imdb doesn’t know yet. Ken Bruen will make a cameo appearance! But if you’ve read an ARC of TOWER and then read the Bruen interview with Craig McDonald included as bonus material you already know this. But here’s something not even revealed there. Ken Bruen will play...

A PRIEST!

You read it all here first, folks.

London Boulevard's Hollywood Treatment

I learned something I didn't know from David Thompson's Busted Flush blog. Ken Bruen's London Boulevard will begin filming soon. And guess who's starring in it! Actually, no need to guess. I'll just tell you. They've got Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley.

David quotes Ken; "I'm just delighted... I think the casting is brilliant and the screenplay by Bill Monahan is terrific."

Smashing stuff, eh? Call over to the Busted Flush blog for the skinny on the novel's shining future.

And while you're in the mood for clicking, jump on over to Colman's Crime Cut Celt and read his interview/interrogation with said gentleman of Irish Noir.

Keeping it in the BFP family, the new edition of Reed Farrel Coleman's THE JAMES DEANS features a foreword by Michael Connelly, two short stories featuring Moe Prager and Ken Bruen’s Jack Taylor and a preview of TOWER by Ken Bruen and Reed Farrel Coleman. It is now available from Busted Flush Press. I'll be posting an excellent CSNI interview with Reed Farrel Coleman tomorrow.

So, in the words of Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, "Thank you, come again."
